My Background

I come from golfing family. My father (who grew up in Centereach, NY) started the game in his early teens and was soon the obsession began. He came down to Alabama where he played for a short time for a junior college before meeting my mother (from Birmingham) and turning professional.... So some years later after moving down to Birmingham and starting a business for golf and sport training aids (pvcsports.com) my sister Abigale (2 years older) and I caught on to the fever. Unlike most kids or teens we spent a lot of weekends during the school year and most of the summer traveling to tournaments and we were always at the golf course after school playing fun games together and with the boys of course.

We both ended up getting full scholarships to play at Auburn University. Auburn has so far been one of the best decisions of my life. Oh did I mention I also home-schooled myself my last two years of high school? yea just a little tid bit. College life was great I really learned the importance of time management in order to really succeed. I met some of my best friends there and it really helped me grow up. During my 2nd and 3rd year I seriously considered advancing to professional golf (meaning I would've had to drop out of college or at least I wouldn't have been able to play for the team), but I just couldn't do it! I was having so much fun in college just being a kid that I wanted to cherish that time as much as possible. I knew what it was like to play on the tour and I wanted the chance to gain the friendships that I have now. I am so thankful that I stayed! Being down in Auburn also helped me become the golfer I proudly am now. Because my dad has been my only teacher and coach, you could say growing up I had become comfortable with him always being around when I needed him. Even though I was only an hour and half drive away, I had to learn to "teach" myself. I learned so much about my game and it was a confidence booster to see the results on the course.

So now after finishing my eligibility at Auburn (yes I have 3 more classes to finish up! hopefully this winter off season) the next step has naturally evolved into becoming a professional. So far its been fun, crazy, a little frustrating, and soooo worth it! I'm doing what I love and surrounded by people I love and who love me!

Where does other passion for clean eating and fitness tie in? When I was younger (teen years) I was lets say not the same size and shape I am now. I grew up with the mentality to just see how much I could eat.... I guess this was a little from my family mentioning how I was little and had a "fast metabolism" and could eat whatever I wanted. This was true when I was ten and was running around all the time but high school it caught up with me and even my first year at college was bad. After my first year I definitely gained the freshman 15 I ended that year at the heaviest I had ever been close to 155 at 5'5 that was a little pudgey to say the least. That summer I started just really watching what I ate and I was introduced to clean eating from my aunt who showed my Tosca Reno's book. So I guess three years later I've turned into the clean freak I am today and I love it!

I'd also like to take the time and thank every one of my supporters. Thanks to my family who are constantly pushing me and just believing in my abilities. Thank you to my Auburn family for being my rock. I love you guys.....WAR EAGLE! Thanks to all my fans, supporters of my golf, and to any one for taking the time to read this blog! If you have any questions or comments for me don't hesitate to contact me I'd love to hear what you have to say :)
